Build the first-contact video

• Put the player’s name, graduation year, position, club, and a dedicated recruiting email on screen. For minors, use an address a parent or guardian manages with the player.
• Identify the player clearly before each clip and begin with useful game action rather than a long title sequence.
• Show decisions with and without the ball, relevant position actions, and reactions after transitions or mistakes.
• Keep the first cut brief, then provide clearly labeled full-match links for deeper evaluation.
• Use honest footage and context; editing cannot replace current match evidence. Keep phone numbers, home addresses, private school records, and other sensitive details out of public video.

Write a message a coach can use

Personalize every message and keep the first screen useful.

“Coach [name]—I’m [name], a [graduation year] [position] with [club].”

“I’m interested in [school] because [specific academic and soccer reason].”

“Here is my short video, full-match link, upcoming schedule, and current academic information.”

“Would my profile fit a need you are evaluating in my class?”

Follow up when something changed

• A new schedule, match location, updated full-game link, academic result, or requested document
• A short thank-you and one specific takeaway after a real conversation or campus visit
• A respectful close when the school is no longer a fit, so both sides can plan honestly

Keep the player in front

Families can organize dates and protect privacy, especially early. As the process advances, the player should increasingly write, speak, ask questions, and understand every commitment made in their name.
